Recently retired (January 2021) from The Times of India Group as associate editor, after 34 years. She writes on environment, science, philosophy, travel, tourism, sustainability, heritage etc. She was editor of The Speaking Tree column and feature for 25 years. She is now a freelance writer.

Faces
People have happy faces, especially living in settlements all along the river. They seem to have simple lifestyles, dependent on river biodiversity, taking only as much as is required for sustenance.
